Who we are
The CitiNiche core team is: Ivan Rijavec, Adam Smith, Brian Ashton and Dan Oxnam. Our combined experience in architecture, urban design, planning, property development and digital technology gives us the unique skills to design and manage the CitiNiche property development platform.
Ivan Rijavec, Managing Director
With a career spanning architecture, urban design, education and property development, Ivan is committed to improving the world through architecture and urban design. Ivan has designed numerous award winning projects and inspired and co-directed Australia’s benchmark Venice Biennale exhibition on the future of Australian urbanism in 2010.
Following years of frustration with the current development model, where features are compromised and residents have little say in shaping their living space, Ivan decided to do something about it. By taking advantage of a group’s social capital and connecting the right group to the right design team, he helps empower people and improves their residential space.
Adam Smith, Planning Director
Adam is an experienced urban planner with a passion for making urban development and community projects more engaging for the public, developing planning approaches that are interesting, inclusive and meaningful. Adam's role on this project is to research, design and develop a model that enables urban development projects to be formed, facilitated and funded via the web.
Brian Ashton, Technical Director
Brian has experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and web-development in the urban planning and IT industries. Brian's technical skills and knowledge of planning and design have resulted in the development of a variety of industry-specific analytical, planning and engagement tools. Brian's role on this project is to design and deliver the web-platform that facilitates the CitiNiche development model.
Dan Oxnam, Creative Director
Dan has extensive experience helping some of Australia's leading brands design and develop their online presence. In 2009, Dan established the user experience consultancy, Etch Group, where he is partner and chief creative officer. Etch helps businesses understand their customers’ journey on and offline, determining how digital products and services can best assist them. Dan has refined the CitiNiche concept to ensure it looks good and is easy to use.
